GetYourGuide's Connectivity Partner Day 2023: Key Insights and Highlights
On June 7th, 2023, GetYourGuide’s Berlin HQ was buzzing with excitement as we hosted our second Connectivity Partner Day. Bringing together many of our Connectivity Partners, this engaging day was brimming with insights, collaboration, and strategic alignment. Let's quickly walk through some of the day's key takeaways in case you missed it.
Looking Towards the Future: GetYourGuide's Strategy
GetYourGuide’s CPO, Ameet Ranadive, and Supply Product Director, Heiko Reintsch, gave a glimpse into GetYourGuide's future, detailing our strategic roadmap for the coming years. GetYourGuide’s focus will continue to be on enhancing the traveler's booking experience and diversifying our product offerings, emphasizing refining customer features and growing our trove of exceptional experiences.
Mastering Technical Incident Management
Udi Nir, GetYourGuide’s CTO, and Giacomo Palma, Connectivity Engineering Manager, stressed the importance of a swift and effective response to technical incidents. Our primary commitment is to the traveler, and we aim to minimize any disruption to their journey. We also value our suppliers' trust in us and strive to protect their reputations and interests. We have a culture of continuous improvement; we see mistakes as opportunities to learn and enhance our processes.
Rethinking Supplier Onboarding
Martin Burdenski, our Head of Supply, and Nikita Kazachkov, Head of Marketing for Travel Communities, introduced our improved supplier onboarding process. With our strong focus on providing high-quality and diverse travel experiences, we want to make it as smooth and quick as possible for suppliers to offer them to travelers. Our revamped process enables suppliers to register, create activities, and start receiving bookings within minutes, all while maintaining our high-quality standards.
Elevating First-Line Support
Natalie Estment, GetYourGuide’s Connectivity Operations Manager; Bhavna Mittal, GetYourGuide’s Senior Manager of Supplier Experience; and representatives from Bókun, FareHarbour, and Travelotopos engaged in a thoughtful discussion on enhancing first-line support. The key takeaway was that as travel volumes rise, proactive problem-solving, metrics, and continuous system monitoring become essential for managing recurring issues and preventing new ones.
Supplier Performance: Optimization Insights
As Europe's largest OTA, GetYourGuide is uniquely positioned to offer invaluable insights to help activity providers boost customer experiences and value delivery. Our Connectivity Partner Business Managers for EMEA and APAC, Hussam Sahhar, and for the Americas, Sam Hyatt and Charmaine Chua, Head of Optimization, shared their views on optimizing supplier performance. Here are the central takeaways:
Keeping Up with Booking Trends: The trend for last-minute and unique experience bookings is rising, and we've adjusted our infrastructure to cater to this demand promptly.
Embracing Dynamic Pricing: We recommend suppliers use dynamic pricing strategies for more control and flexibility.
Streamlining Last-Minute Bookings: Reliable API connections and low error rates are critical for satisfying last-minute bookings.
Maximizing Availability: Suppliers can maximize their earnings by ensuring their availability is synced in real-time.
Catering to Unique Experiences: As demand for unique experiences grows, suppliers must categorize their tours and correctly enhance their visibility.
