Improved Product Mapping with Our New API Endpoints
Understanding the Challenge
Mapping products can sometimes be tricky. About 35% of mapping tries end up with errors. These delays can cause our shared suppliers to lose money. To give a clearer picture, our support team handled 300 emails and tickets about self-mapping problems just this year!
Our Answer to the Problem
We are happy to announce two new endpoints: the Product List endpoint and the Product Details endpoint. These new tools will:
Allow GetYourGuide to fetch a list of supplier products automatically.
Help suppliers map their products easily, making fewer mistakes and saving time.
Get products online more quickly, helping our shared suppliers earn more money.
Here’s How It Works
A supplier correctly maps their first product to our system.
GetYourGuide then asks the Product Details endpoint to get the supplier ID from your system.
After that, we ask for the Product List.
The full list of products from your system shows up in our Supplier Admin area.
Soon, suppliers will be able to match their GetYourGuide tour options with products in your system without needing to ask your support team for help.
To make everything work right, both endpoints need to be set up. Also, for GetYourGuide to use data from these endpoints, you must pass a simple test in the 'Test additional features' part of the Integrator Portal. When that's done, you can turn on the feature in the 'Manage Features' area. More information is in our API documentation.
